Here's a series of photographs showing just one of the many horrible things that our government did to the Korean People last night.

As the police forces advanced upon demonstrators, some People took it upon themselves to keep the rest of the demonstrators safe. They lay on the ground in order to prevent the police from advancing any further.

When the riot police arrived at the scene, they found dozens of People lying on the ground. The police hesitated for a moment, not knowing what to do.

An officer then ordered the men to continue. "Step on them if necessary," he said.

A few policemen began to wade through the citizens lying on the ground.

A citizen in a yellow raincoat stood up to stop the police, but to no avail.

The man in the yellow raincoat was kicked out of the way.

The rest of the police stepped forward, trampling on the citizens who lay there. Most People had no time to get up and run away.

The police kept advancing until all the protesters were under their feet. The rest of the citizens ran away in fear, and the police kept chasing after them.

Numerous citizens who were trampled upon suffered injuries as a result.

Medical volunteers tended to the injured after the dust had settled. Approximately 400 citizens and 50 policemen suffered injuries during last night's demonstration in this and may other violent incidents; many received first aid on the streets, but more than 100 citizens with severe injuries were sent to hospitals.
This morning, President Lee Myung-Bak said in a meeting that he would employ even tougher measures against anti-Lee protesters. What we've suffered last night might just be the beginning. How many limbs -- and perhaps even lives -- will we have to give before we can get our democracy back? Supporters of President Lee (of whom there are few) say that Lee is entitled to suppress dissent because he was elected in a fair election last year with 49% of the popular vote. Well, that doesn't tall us much; even Hitler had won a few elections. Besides, a recent survey says that Lee's support rate has dropped to an unprecedented 7%. He need only look at himself if he wants to know why. People normally don't support politicians who trample on their bodies as well as rights.
